Law. It's the cream of the crop, the cherry of the cake, the pickle of the..... pickle jar. It's not just a course, it's a lifestyle! Law can be an exciting, fun and adventurous course! Why did I say "can be"? It's because the extent of your enjoyment will invariably depend on the amout of work you do. Law can be difficult in some regards, yet seem blazingly simple in others. Law traditionally has one of the fewest contact hours compared to any other courses within the mighty 'level three HECS band' courses. You're typically looking at four hours per week for every law subject you take on board. "Why are there so few hours?" I hear you ask. The answer's simple, it's because you need to spend those extra hours reading the material in preparation for going over it in class, often by a group discussion. Law in Melbourne University is much more interactive than commerce or engineering courses. The lectures you take are usually held in so-called 'seminars' with generally no more than 60 fellow students.
